Hello. My name is Mahshid. I live and work in San Diego. I have a private practice in Rancho Bernardo where I see adults and children for a variety of issues and concerns.

I came to SE as a client first during a tumultuous time of my life. I quickly noticed how the SE modality was changing something fundamental about the way I showed up in the world. It wasn’t just a quick fix or a new insight about a conditioned pattern. It was a new way of BEING, a new way of life. I had to find out more.

I completed my training in 2013 and now use SE with all of my own clients. Someone recently asked me if it was hard being a therapist. He asked: “How are you able to go home after a day of working with trauma survivors and leave it all at the office?” I told him this is one of the things I love most about SE: The trust in the nervous system sitting across from me. I’m a firm believer that my clients already have what it takes to heal within them. I see my role as a guide to show them their own healing powers. I LOVE that my clients get better and leave therapy!

Besides my work at my private practice, I am currently involved with an organization helping refugees from Iraq and Afghanistan. Being a former refugee and an immigrant myself, this population is near and dear to my heart. I do home visits and offer support where needed.

I love to travel and assist at the SE trainings all over the US. I am currently acting as the lead assistant at the Seattle training and as the co-lead assistant at the Tucson training. I will be assisting at the Advanced training in Redondo Beach, CA and Prescott, AZ this year. I am approved to provide personal sessions and case consult sessions at all levels of the SE training and group case consult sessions at the beginning level of the SE training. (Skype sessions available by request).

In my “free” time I enjoy writing. I have a blog that occasionally post on called The Tribe Of Us (www.thetribeofus.com) and most recently I have become involved with a theatre group in town and have dabbled into playwriting. My first play will be read for review on June 27th at The Moxie Theatre in El Cajon. What a fun adventure! Wish me luck. J

I love supporting other therapists and students of SE. Please be in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
