Jean Campbell,

To answer your questions, my job position is Founder and CEO of Action Institute of California.  I’m not in private practice - I’m a Trainer, Teacher and Consultant, specializing in the integration of action methods and trauma resolution techniques (including SE) in clinical, medical, educational and corporate settings.

I’m currently living in Oceanside, but will be moving to Costa Mesa next month.

What drew me to SE is the subtle but powerful way that by slowing things down, how the body can to shift from post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth.  It’s a natural complement to the action-based methods of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Psychodramatic Bodywork® that I teach and use in a variety of settings.

The demographic I love to work with is groups of professionals (therapists, counselors, doctors, nurses, lawyers, executives, etc) who are keen to shift their current situation and behavior through action exploration.  The technique of Sociometry can lower anxiety and raise spontaneity, connection and community very quickly.  I’m attaching a brief video (with TV2 Denmark) to provide a sense of what it is, and how powerful it is.  I LOVE teaching Sociometry, and am continually amazed at how few clinicians are even aware of this incredibly effective tool, much less utilizing it in their work.

My favorite phrase that I use, and that I have heard trainers of SE use when a client/patient is in his/her process is, “That’s it.”  I’ve used this expression since long before training in SE because it contains so much permission and reassurance and encouragement in just two little words.  I am still in my 3-year training process, so at this time, I am not available for consultation
